Michelle Aebersold, PhD, RN, CHSE, FAAN is a faculty member in the Master of Science in Medical and Healthcare Simulation program at Drexel University College of Medicine. She is a clinical associate professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing in the Department of Systems, Population and Leadership, and the faculty lead for innovation, research and technology development in the Clinical Learning Center.
Dr. Aebersold received her PhD from the University of Michigan and her BSN and MSBA from Madonna University. Her research is in the area of simulation-based methods to improve learner and health outcomes. As part of a team, she has received grant funding from the National Cancer Institute to use simulation to improve the safe delivery of chemotherapy by nurses and pharmacist. She is also working on using immersive virtual reality and augmented reality to determine how those methods can be integrated into the practice environment in adult and pediatric emergency environments. She teaches in the area of Leadership in Complex Systems, Quality and Safety and Effective Resource Management in Organizations at the Graduate level. Dr. Aebersold is well-published, presents her work nationally and internationally, and loves to mentor others in the field.
