Doctoral Student Handbook
Overview
The doctoral journey for a student is one filled with excitement, achievements, challenges and setbacks. This handbook is intended to be an inclusive tool for all doctoral students to refer to as they navigate their respective journeys. The doctoral handbook project began four years ago when the Academic Affairs subcommittee of the University Council on Graduate Affairs (UCGA) was tasked to ensure students from all of Drexel’s doctoral programs had a reference guide that provided relevant information about expectations, trajectory, process and policy. This handbook is the culmination of countless hours of curating content and editing by faculty from across the university representing different disciplines in full-time and part-time, semester and quarter, and face-to-face and online programs. In addition, it was reviewed and re-reviewed by faculty from across the University and by service units such as the Office of the Registrar and the Office of General Counsel.
Throughout the handbook, it is noted that the contents included are the general baseline standards and practices, and that individual programs may have stricter standards or different practices and students should ALWAYS consult with their individual program. You may download a copy of this handbook, but please always return to this link below to ensure you have the most up-to-date version.
