Tech Alert: Single sign-on for ArcGIS starting November 17

ArcGIS is Esri’s leading GIS mapping software, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online for mapping, analysis, and app development. Starting Monday, November 17, 2025, Drexel students, faculty, and professional staff can access ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro using Drexel Connect and will no longer need to request an ArcGIS account to use these apps.

Existing ArcGIS Users: You’ll continue to sign in with your ArcGIS login after single sign-on is enabled. Your account will be migrated to single sign-on at a later date and more information will be communicated soon.

Capabilities of ArcGIS

ArcGIS enables users to map and analyze geographic data, manage large datasets, and support data-driven decisions in fields like urban planning, environmental management, logistics, and emergency management. Key features include:

  • Mapping and Visualization: Build interactive maps to highlight patterns and share spatial data.
  • Spatial Analysis: Analyze geographic information to detect trends and make predictions.
  • Data Management: Integrate and maintain diverse datasets for accurate geographic insights.

Sign in instructions for new ArcGIS users

After November 17, new users can sign in to ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro using Drexel Connect. Your ArcGIS account will be created automatically and licensed with all apps and services included in our Esri education license.

Sign in to ArcGIS Online with Drexel Connect

  1. Go to Drexel’s ArcGIS portal: drx.maps.arcgis.com
  2. Select Drexel Connect.
  3. You'll be redirected to Drexel Connect. Select Sign in.
  4. Sign in with your Drexel account and verify your sign-in with multifactor authentication.

Sign in to ArcGIS Pro with Drexel Connect

  1. Open ArcGIS Pro.
  2. Select Your ArcGIS organization’s URL.
  3. Enter drx in the ArcGIS organization’s URL field, and then select Continue.
  4. Select Drexel Connect.
  5. You'll be redirected to Drexel Connect. Select Sign in.
  6. Sign in with your Drexel account and verify your sign-in with multifactor authentication.

Sign in instructions for existing ArcGIS users

After November 17, you’ll continue to sign in with your ArcGIS login until your account is migrated.

Sign in to ArcGIS Online with your ArcGIS login

  1. Go to Drexel’s ArcGIS portal: drx.maps.arcgis.com
  2. Select ArcGIS login.
  3. Enter your existing ArcGIS username and password, and then select Sign in.

Sign in to ArcGIS Pro with your ArcGIS login

  1. Open ArcGIS Pro.
  2. Select Your ArcGIS organization’s URL.
  3. Enter drx in the ArcGIS organization’s URL field, and then select Continue.
  4. Enter your existing ArcGIS username and password, and then select Sign in.

Educational license usage restrictions

ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro are subject to Esri’s education license. ArcGIS may be used for teaching and learning, personal research, institutional research, and sponsored research through grants where society is the primary beneficiary. ArcGIS may not be used for consulting or for sponsored research through contracts where the sponsor is the primary beneficiary of the research.
