Retrofit of Milan Educational Building
Energy-efficient retrofit of an existing public educational building. Work will include using natural daylight to improve the building as a site for enhanced student learning, providing energy-effective heating, ventilation and air conditioning to create a healthier indoor environment, evaluating the building envelope for structural integrity and thermal performance, and structural evaluation of an existing building for adaptive reuse. Students will collaborate with senior thesis students at the Politecnico di Milano Department of Architecture Built Environment and Construction Engineering. This will be taught as a Global Classroom and there will be funding to support this international collaboration.
