Through a series of foundational courses, students become proficient with a range of industry-standard design tools and research methods.
This certificate can be combined with other certificates and courses to create the following Master of Science degrees:
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
Computer Science
Data Science
Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience (HCI/UX)
Information Systems
While this certificate does not require a technical background, the master’s degree to which you want to apply it may require one. Based on your background and goals, your Academic Advisor will guide you in the selection of courses/certificates and degree programs that are available to you.
Note: Certificates can only be used in pursuit of a master’s degree; they are not a stand-alone credential. To take advantage of a certificate program, you must apply and be admitted to a specific master’s degree program. No official credential will be issued by the University for a completed certificate alone.
Curriculum
IMPORTANT NOTE: Drexel operates on the quarter, not semester, system, offering classes during four 10-week terms throughout the year.
Whether or not you have an educational or professional background in the tech field, the human computer interaction certificate provides the comprehensive knowledge you need to know to help make technology more useful, efficient and/or accessible for people and organizations. The curriculum provides a comprehensive overview of human-computer interaction topics, including design thinking, user experience research methods, and the theoretical and practical applications of design on human-computer interfaces
