About the Department

The Department of Computer Science offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Computer Science and Software Engineering, including one of the largest majors at Drexel, the BS in Computer Science. Our programs are recognized by employers as some of the best in the region and across the country, and many of our students have been recruited by Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and other nationally and internationally prestigious companies. Our faculty includes world-class researchers across the majors areas of computer science, integrating foundational computing theory with practical applications. This research is funded by major federal organizations (such as NSF, DARPA, ONR, and others) as well as industrial and private sources (including Intel, Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, and others). Our faculty have been recognized by numerous teaching and research awards, including the prestigious NSF CAREER award.

    To recognize outstanding students, faculty, and professional staff at CCI, on an annual basis, the College will solicit nominations annually to acknowledge those individuals who demonstrate exemplary value, impact and expertise within our community throughout the academic year.

  • Area STEM Teachers Go Back to School for REThink CS at Drexel

    The teachers participating in this year’s research institute explored a wide range of topics including information privacy, machine learning, human-computer interaction, brain computer interfaces, smart textiles, computer graphics and medical imaging. Teachers will remain engaged year-round by taking part in monthly electronic meetings with their faculty mentors, attending a winter campus meeting and other regional events.
