Sophia Ezomoghene

Degree Program: MSI in Library & Information Science - Part-time, online
Undergraduate Institution: Northeastern University
Personal Interests: Writing speculative fiction, traveling, reading and Pilates
Career Goals: Children’s Literature Special Collections Curator
Advice to Prospective Students: Do not be afraid to ask for help. As a graduate student, you may feel you are too experienced in school and life to need support. However, regardless of where we are in our careers, there comes a time when you need a little assistance. Be proactive and give yourself some grace. Reach out.

Allison Gong

Degree Program: MS in Computer Science - Full-time, on campus
Undergraduate Institution: Bryn Mawr College
Personal Interests: Drawing & painting, yoga, taking walks and hiking, makeup/beauty
Career Goals: Working as a software engineer for a couple of years, then go back to school for my PhD and eventually teach undergraduate computer science
Advice to Prospective Students: Being a graduate student is demanding and it's difficult to manage your time effectively, but you should always try to take some time every day for yourself. It can be as simple as unplugging for an hour or taking a short walk.

Career Goals: UX Designer
Advice to Prospective Students: It is important to have good time management skills, especially when you have other jobs. Be sure to stay organized and complete assignments early if you can to alleviate stress!

Advice to Prospective Students: Be consistent at whatever you do — maybe it will take some time but you'll definitely see the results. Make time for everything; don't just work hard make friends and give yourself a break once in a while.

Career Goals: UX visual designer with a company that tackles urban planning issues
Advice to Prospective Students: Think about what tangible skills that you want to get out of your degree and talk to your advisor, professors, and other students about classes that would help you get there. Do the readings, try new activities, and challenge yourself - you get more out of your degree what you put into it!

Advice to Prospective Students: Try to have a balance between your personal and professional life and goals. Work hard and enjoy harder. Consistency and patience is the key to bring a new change. It's okay to ask for help and guidance well within time.
