Biomedical Studies
Medicine (MD, Biomedical, and Professional Studies)
This full-time, two-year special master's program is designed for applicants who have completed all health professional school prerequisites and need to enhance their science background and MCAT score to become competitive applicants to medical or other health professional schools. The first year includes graduate and undergraduate science courses designed to increase students’ competency and raise their math-science GPA, along with community service and MCAT preparation. The second-year curriculum consists of science coursework equivalent in content, pace, and rigor to first-year medical school courses, bioethics, professionalism, and leadership. Students typically sit for the MCAT, complete a research project, and submit their medical school applications during the summer between year one and year two. The Master of Science degree will be awarded contingent upon satisfactory completion of all program requirements, including a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0.
