Biomedical Studies
Medicine (MD, Biomedical, and Professional Studies)
This full-time, two-year special master's program is designed for applicants who have completed all health professional school prerequisites and seek to strengthen their science background and MCAT score to enhance their competitiveness for medical or other health professional schools. In their first year, students take graduate and undergraduate science courses to enhance their competencies and boost their math-science GPA, alongside community service and MCAT preparation. The second-year curriculum consists of science coursework equivalent in content, pace, and rigor to first-year medical school courses, supplemented by classes in bioethics, professionalism, and leadership. Students typically take the MCAT, complete a research project, and submit their medical school applications during the summer between the first and second years. The Master of Science degree will be conferred upon the successful completion of all program requirements, including obtaining a minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0.
