Athletics and Recreation
The list of athletic opportunities we offer is extensive, including everything from rowing and track to rugby and water polo. Not only that, you can choose the level of competition that best suits you and your personal comfort level.
Division I Sports
As a D1 university in Philadelphia, our Dragons have the opportunity to face off against rivals from across the country in basketball, wrestling, field hockey, and more. Over 470 Drexel student-athletes compete in 18 Division I NCAA sports in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Club and Intramural Sports
Club and intramural sports are highly popular and fun opportunities to interact with other members of the Drexel community. As a participant in intramural activities, you'll face off with competitors of all skills in sports such as sailing, squash, martial arts, and beach volleyball. If you're up to the challenge, members of the University's Club Teams compete against other local colleges and universities.
Our Facilities
More than 7,000 students, faculty, and staff participate in recreational programs at the University each year. Whether you prefer outdoor or indoor sports, Drexel has a wide array of places for you to stay active. Our John A. Daskalakis Athletic Center — also known as the DAC — is the official home of Drexel Athletics. The DAC includes a swimming pool, five squash courts, a golf center, and a gymnasium.
If you're looking for some fun outside, Drexel has two beach volleyball courts, two tennis courts, and a soccer field. The state-of-the-art Drexel Recreation Center is an 18,000-square-foot facility that includes an elevated jogging track, multi-purpose gymnasium, climbing wall, exercise studios, and more.
