Engineering Summer Institutes
Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Summer Institute
Students will learn the basics of the Python programming language as well as programming embedded systems using the ESP32, which is a low-cost, low-power microcontroller with integrated Wi-Fi. There are no prerequisites for enrollment. Students do NOT need to know how to program a computer, nor do they need to have any experience with electronics. The summer camp will be taught by faculty, professional staff, and students in the Drexel ECE Department. The content is well-suited for students potentially interested in computer- or engineering-related college majors.

Materials Science and Engineering Summer Institute
The Drexel University Materials Science and Engineering Summer Institute is a one-week program that will give aspiring scientists and engineers the chance to learn about how atomic elements arrange themselves to form the materials that are all around us. Furthermore, the Summer Institute will emphasize how variables in the processing of materials determine physical, mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties. Through hands-on science and engineering activities, students will gain an understanding of how materials impact the fields of energy, biotechnology, and electronics. Sustainability and nanotechnology will be a theme woven through the modules. Both in-person and online versions of the program are available. Experimental supplies will be provided for both delivery modes.
| Dates | In-person: July 13–16, 2026 Virtual: July 20–23, 2026 |
