Current Students
This section contains information that will be useful to Drexel students who are pursuing their education right now.
Here you will find resources to help you with questions and needs that arise during your studies at Drexel. Did you move to a new apartment in Philadelphia? Did you change majors? Were you offered an on-campus job? All of that and more may happen during your program. In this section, we can help you with all of that.
If your program has not started yet, the New International Students page might be more helpful to you.
Nine Ways To Preserve Your F1 Status
- Read and respond to all emails from ISSS!
- Enroll in a full-time course load. This means 12 credits for an Undergraduate and 9 credits for a Graduate student.
- Talk to ISSS about legal authorization from ISSS before beginning any work! Note that "work" can mean a lot of different things, including anything that earns income. Visit our employment page to learn more.
- Traveling outside the US and planning to re-enter? Come to ISSS to obtain a travel signature before you leave the U.S.
- Before you take a vacation, leave of absence, or withdrawal, be sure to let ISSS know.
- If the visa in your passport expires, you can remain in the U.S. as long as your I-20/DS-2019 is valid. Confused? Ask ISSS.
- Monitor your finances. Be sure to review your tuition bill carefully.
- Make sure you do not have any holds on your account. You can check these in DrexelOne. Holds can prevent you from registering for classes and using Drexel resources such as the library, etc.
- Update ISSS of any changes you make, such as address or major, within 10 days.
