Congratulations on your admission to Drexel University!
As a student who has deferred their enrollment, we recognize that there can be a need for flexibility in how you choose to start your college career. No matter if you will be with us during the winter or next fall 2027, we are thrilled that you have decided to become a Dragon. Rest assured that no matter what the circumstance of your delayed start may be, we remain committed to you and will do all that we can to make sure you remain positioned to succeed.
We wanted to remind you about our transition from a quarter system to a semester calendar, beginning in August 2027. This shift will foster greater collaboration, create more flexible academic pathways, and deepen the learning experience both inside and outside the classroom. While your college career may be starting later, we have many experiences and resources available that will allow you to get involved at Drexel right away. Be sure to visit this page often, as we will be adding special programs and unique opportunities throughout the year.

Calendar for Deferred Students
| November 2026 | Provide Drexel with an update on your gap year activities and how they are progressing by email at enroll@drexel.edu. |
| December 2026 | Drexel will reinstate your financial aid package, which can be found in your Discover Drexel portal. |
| December 1, 2026 | The 2027–2028 Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) is expected to be available to complete online December 1, 2026. Please check the Federal Student Aid website for updates. |
| January 4, 2027 | Classes start for students who deferred to winter quarter. |
| January 15, 2027 | Re-confirm your enrollment via Discover Drexel. You do not need to re-submit the tuition deposit; if you will be living in University housing, you will be required to submit the $200 housing deposit. |
| Spring 2027 | Attend one of the Admitted Student events to re-orient yourself with Drexel. |
| April – September 2027 | You will receive information about preparing to start at Drexel on such topics as housing, dining, placement exams, health insurance and immunizations, financial aid, billing, and more. |
| August 23, 2027 | Start of fall semester 2027. |
