Financial Aid Programs and Financing Resources

There are several specific awards designated for programs in select Drexel colleges and schools, based on both merit and for students with various associations. 

The Drexel Dean's Scholarship is a non-need-based award given on the basis of merit to select graduate students and covers a percentage of tuition costs. Learn more about merit scholarships.

Any Drexel alumni who has or will earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree is eligible for a 30 percent tuition discount if applying to a participating graduate-level program through the Drexel Lifelong Learner Award.

 

The Teacher's Incentive Grant is available to new graduate students enrolled in the on-campus master's program in the Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum: Teacher Certification track. Eligible students may receive a 25 percent discount on graduate tuition.

The Drexel Grad Grant is available to graduate applicants who are undergraduate Drexel alums. The grant pays $100 per credit hour for which you are enrolled for during the first four consecutive quarters of your graduate program. Review more information about this grant.

Any student who enrolls in a Drexel graduate school program after taking a Kaplan preparation course for the GRE or GMAT will receive tuition credit equal to the amount paid for the Kaplan preparation course. Students who have participated in Kaplan's private tutoring sessions in preparation for the GRE or GMAT within two years of being admitted to Drexel are eligible to receive a tuition credit of up to $1,200.

In order to be considered for the Drexel-Kaplan Tuition Grant, you will need to present your original receipts for the Kaplan course or tutoring session to the Office of Graduate Admissions prior to enrollment.

Drexel awards highly qualified students financial assistance in the form of teaching, research, or graduate assistantships. If you are offered an assistantship, you will be required to perform specific work assignments within the University. Both U.S. and non-U.S. Citizens are eligible and must be enrolled as full-time graduate students. Most Drexel graduate programs require the GRE for these positions. Not all programs offer assistantships.

Most programs require interested students to complete their admission applications by January 1 to be considered. The Department of Education offers two types of loans for graduate students: Direct Unsubsidized Loan and Direct Graduate PLUS Loan. Learn more about these Federal Direct Loan programs.

The Federal Work-Study program at Drexel is designed to promote the part-time employment of students who have demonstrated financial need upon completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant offers up to $4,000 a year to graduate students in one of the eligible programs.

Drexel offers a monthly installment payment plan for graduate students for each term. The plan allows you to make monthly payments for a portion or all of your balance due for a given term. Each payment plan requires an application fee. View payment plan schedules and learn more.

Drexel University's Employer Reimbursement Plan is designed for students whose employers offer reimbursement for tuition charges. It allows graduate students to defer their tuition payments to Drexel until 30 days after the term has been completed. Learn more about employer reimbursement plans.
