Environmental Engineering Major

The environmental engineering degree prepares students to design systems, policies and  processes that protect living organisms from the effects of adverse environmental  factors such as waste, chemical, air quality, water quality and climate change. Students  graduate with the ability to identify,  evaluate and solve complex problems by drawing from several areas of  engineering and the sciences. You will become an expert in protecting, improving  and creating safe and sustainable solutions with a multi-disciplinary approach.

Curriculum and Requirements
The Environmental Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the commission's General Criteria and Program Criteria for Environmental and Similarly Named Engineering Programs. 
  Students must complete a total  of 35 General Education credits (9 of these credits are liberal elective  credits), 65 Foundation Requirement course credits, and 95 credits of  environmental engineering requirements.

Minors
Students may combine a minor within the College of Engineering or in an any area across the University. Popular minors include business, civil engineering, ecology, and environmental science.
Career/Job Outlook
Careers as an environmental engineer is very rewarding, with job titles ranging from environmental compliance specialist, land surveyor, transportation planner, environmental scientist, geotechnical engineer, energy efficiency engineer to wastewater engineer.
