A Helpful Guide to Dual Admission at Drexel

You have decided that after high school, you would like to attend a community college. This can be for various reasons: proximity to home, cost, academics, etc. This is a wonderful option for many students, as community colleges help students prepare to transition to a four-year school if that is then the ultimate educational goal. If you know you plan to start at a community college but want to transfer to Drexel University to a full-time major, you may want to consider the Dual Admissions program!

Currently, Drexel University has a Dual Admissions program with four of our local community colleges:

• Community College of Philadelphia
• Delaware County Community College
• Montgomery County Community College
• Rowan College at Burlington County

Dual Admissions programs can be a great pathway for students considering transferring to Drexel University. This program guides you through the specific requirements for your intended major as well as what courses transfer into your Drexel program. For a number of Drexel majors, you can plan out your first two years at a community college through this program, earn your Associate's degree, and then apply to Drexel as a transfer applicant already aware of what you will likely qualify for in the admission process. To start the Dual Admissions program at one of these four community colleges, students should follow these next steps:

• Fill out the intent to enroll form at the community college for the Dual Admissions program with Drexel University. This form must be submitted before a student completes 45 credits. The student will choose which major in the Dual Admissions program that they plan to study at Drexel. The community college will then provide students with the appropriate plan of study at their school for their Drexel major.
• To continue in the Dual Admissions program, students must complete their Associate's degree before attending Drexel University.
• Once a student is close to completing their Associate's degree, they would begin the transfer application process with Drexel. Students that are part of this program receive an application fee waiver for the $50 application fee.
• Please also note that students must be graduated from high school to participate in the Dual Admission program.

If the Drexel program you are interested in is not part of the Dual Admissions program or you do not attend a community college or four-year institution that is part of our Dual Admissions program, no worries! You can still apply as a transfer student at Drexel and have your transfer credits reviewed by our academic advisors.
