Post-Bachelor's Teaching Certificate – Secondary Education
Drexel's accredited online Teaching Certification program is designed for those who hold a bachelor's degree and seek to qualify for state Teacher Certification for secondary education (grades 7-12.) This program, consisting of a blend of online coursework and field experiences, is designed for career-changers as well as those who already serve as temporary, emergency, or substitute teachers and wish to earn a formal teaching certification. All graduate credits earned in this program may be applied toward the Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Online Program. Certification areas: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, English, General Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Social Studies. The program requires certain undergraduate content courses in subject areas required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in addition to the graduate-level Core Pedagogy courses. Your academic advisor will review all of your transcripts to determine which additional content courses you must complete. These courses can be taken either through Drexel or at another accredited institution.
