International Students and Scholars Services
Welcome to Drexel University and welcome to the office of International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS).
Where the World Meets Drexel
International Students and Scholars Services (ISSS) provides a variety of support services to approximately 3,500 international students, scholars, and employees at Drexel University. Our team is dedicated to supporting and advocating for the international community at Drexel.
We assist students from the moment they are admitted, through their visa applications and travel to the U.S., and continue to support them throughout their programs and up to 36 months after graduation. This includes providing support to students on Optional Practical Training (OPT), STEM OPT, and Academic Training (AT). ISSS Helps F-1 and J-1 students navigate complex immigration matters through holistic advising and various immigration and non-immigration programs. We also collaborate with other campus units to create programs that help students navigate their studies and adjust to life at Drexel and in the U.S., including new student orientation during Drexel's Welcome Week each September. Whether you are a newly admitted student, currently enrolled, or on OPT/STEM OPT/AT, we are here to support you throughout your journey.
We also assist Drexel hiring departments in sponsoring visas (e.g. J-1, H-1B) for international scholars and employees.
Additionally, ISSS helps other non-immigrant visa holders who plan to change their immigration status to a Drexel-sponsored visa. We also provide external legal resources to students and scholars who are not seeking visa sponsorship from Drexel but are looking for immigration advice regarding their current status.
