SEPTA Key Advantage Program
For Stipend-Eligible Doctoral Students
About
Since June 1, 2023, the Graduate College has offered the SEPTA Key Advantage Program, which provides free, all-access transportation via SEPTA to stipend-eligible doctoral students. We were proud to be one of the first in Philadelphia to participate in this exciting transit benefit for doctoral students, furthering our commitment to helping students manage the increasing cost of living. While students can utilize the program for commuting to and from Drexel University, they can also use the pass to explore Philadelphia and all it has to offer!
The SEPTA Key Advantage program works like the Anywhere TrailPass and can be used on all SEPTA modes, including Regional Rail, Market-Frankford Line, Broad Street Line, Norristown High Speed Line, CCT, and city and suburban buses and trolleys any day and time. It does not include PATCO or NJ Transit.
This offer is part of a pilot program. The University will continue to evaluate the program over the coming months and notify participants of any modifications or plans for extension.
The program is not considered a taxable benefit to students.
Eligibility
At this time, only stipend-eligible doctoral students are eligible to apply for the program through the Graduate College. The program is not currently being offered to part-time or self-funded doctoral students.
How to Enroll
Eligible students will receive an email from the Graduate College with more information.
Newly enrolling students who are eligible will receive an email from Jawnt (hello@jawnt.com), a Philadelphia-based technology company with detailed instructions on how to enroll in the program and link it to a new or existing SEPTA Key Card by the end of the month. Be sure to add hello@jawnt.com to your approved sender list and check your spam or junk folders.
Currently enrolled students will maintain enrollment in the program as long as they remain eligible. Please make sure your SEPTA Key Card is up to date and not expired. If your card expires, you must purchase a new card a link it to your existing account.
