Understanding Adherence for Children with Faltering Weight
PhD, Clinical Psychology, College of Arts and Sciences
Summary: Faltering weight ("failure to thrive") is characterized by low weight and vulnerability for negative health outcomes. While it's common pathway is inadequate caloric intake, faltering weight has a multifactorial etiology and is most effectively treated by interdisciplinary teams. Little research exists in understanding interdisciplinary recommendations given, and moreover how to understand and measure adherence given to this population to ultimately improve clinical care and outcomes.
