Achieving Open Defecation Free Communities Using Community Led Total Sanitation in Zambia
MPH, Community Health and Prevention, Dornsife School of Public Health
Summary: The unique story of how the Madzimawe chiefdom in the Eastern Province of Zambia became an open defecation free palace can serve as a example for neighbhoring villages. I will be focusing on the public health significance of a Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) campaign that was triggered in 2012, as well as the influence of the campaign on residents’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices surrounding open defecation.

Being Your True Self: Personally and in Engineering While in Graduate School
PhD, Materials Science and Engineering, College of Engineering
Summary: Is graduate school really only about your research, writing papers, presenting at conferences, completing your thesis, etc? To some, yes; but to others, HELL NO. It’s about you. It’s about your future and discovering your inner self. Engineering allows you to explore your love for math and science, but what about being authentic to yourself and truly being happy?
