Training on Research Intelligence Tools- SciVal and Funding Institutional

SciVal and Funding Institutional are two research intelligence tools available to all faculty, staff, and students to help support research goals. The Office of Research & Innovation and the Office of Institutional Advancement invite you to participate in the following professional development workshops.

SciVal - Thursday, December 16, 2021, 10:00am – 12:00pm

SciVal, a web-based analytics solution, allows you to visualize research performance, benchmark relative to peers, develop collaborative partnerships, analyze new emerging research trends, and create uniquely tailored reports to establish, evaluate and execute best strategies. Using advanced data analytics, SciVal allows you to instantly process an enormous amount of data and provides access to more than 280 trillion metric values to generate powerful data visualizations on-demand. The new Grants module will also be shared in this session.

In this session, you will learn:

  • Visualize research performance with ready made at a glance snapshots of any given entity
  • Create and compare different groups and research areas
  • Identify and analyze existing and potential collaboration opportunities
  • Analyze research trends to discover the top performers and rising stars

Funding Institutional Thursday, December 16, 2021, 12:30pm – 1:15pm

Funding Institutional helps you find active, accurate funding opportunities in a timely manner from over 3,500 government and private funding organizations, and by offering insight into research that has already been funded in your area of interest. After this 30-minute workshops, you should have the knowledge to maximize access to and management of funding opportunities to best utilize our subscription.

In this session, you will learn:

  • Search for funding opportunities
  • Find new sources of external grant income
  • Identify potential collaborators and find investigators that are securing grants in their field of interest
  • Survey funding trends
  • Set-up alerts to be notified automatically of new funding opportunities
