Family Co-op and Career Resources

The Steinbright Career Development Center's extensive services and highly qualified professional staff will work together with your student to make the most of their time at Drexel and prepare them for their lifelong journey of career development.

Career Development

Drexel is unique in its comprehensive engagement of students on matters of professional development. Throughout the entire academic year, the Steinbright Career Development Center provides opportunities for all Drexel students to utilize, including rotating workshops, career fairs, and online resources, such as SCDCOnline, Handshake, and our Career Navigator. From the first-year through post-graduation, our Career Services team works with all who are interested in career assessment, entry into full-time work, or admission to graduate programs, including medical and law schools. The Steinbright Career Development Center is here to maximize your student's success.

First-Year Career Counseling

If your students decides to take advantage of Steinbright's First-Year Career Counseling, they will gain a better understanding of how their expanding knowledge, skill-sets, and interests relate to academic choices and the world of work. Students who engage with First-Year Career Counseling will be supported through self-exploration while building professional literacy in their fields of interest. Students will also uncover resources to help them feel confident participating in career exploration, expanding their network, and preparing for professional opportunities.

The Cooperative Education Model

Drexel's widely recognized cooperative education program annually connects nearly 6,000 students with employers to gain unmatched, real-world work experiences. Students work in meaningful positions with industry leaders ranging from global organizations to innovative startups, allowing them to test-drive careers while building an impressive résumé. Co-op transforms students and their career trajectories, while enhancing and complementing their learning, both in and out of the classroom. You can expect this type of transformation with your student too.

Students are prepared for co-op job search success by taking COOP 101, the Career Management and Professional Development course. After COOP 101, each student will then work with their assigned co-op advisor to further prepare for co-op. Co-op advisors provide industry-specific guidance to students as they conduct their job search and continue to provide one-on-one coaching before, during, and after a student's cooperative education experience.
