The Drexel Pathway to Medical School (DPMS) program is a Master of Science degree program designed for talented, underserved students who have interest in attending Drexel's MD program and have completed traditional pre-med coursework as well as the MCAT prior to applying. DPMS accepts individuals who are socioeconomically disadvantaged and/or belong to groups underrepresented in the medical profession.
Students who successfully complete the one-year Drexel Pathway to Medical School program and achieve academic and professional benchmarks are accepted into Drexel's MD program.
Conveniently located the heart of Philadelphia, this one-year program offers a unique opportunity for dedicated students to further enhance their academic backgrounds by completing rigorous coursework that builds skills for clinical problem-solving.

Is Drexel Pathway to Medical School for Me?
The Drexel Pathway to Medical School program is designed for students who want to attend Drexel's MD program and have taken traditional pre-med coursework (one year of biology, chemistry, organic chemistry and physics with a lab) and the MCAT before applying.
Applicants who are usually accepted into the program include:
- Students from socially or economically disadvantaged backgrounds
- Students who are underrepresented minorities in the health professions
- Students who have MCAT scores from the 25th percentile or better in each section or overall
- Students who have an undergraduate science or overall GPA of 2.9 or better.

At the start of the academic year, the class of 2023 came together to celebrate their initiation to medical school during the White Coat Ceremony. Among them stood 27 students who are alumni of the DPMS program. This was the largest group from the program so far to be accepted into the College of Medicine's MD program. Read more.
