Anatomy Institute and Dissection Experience
For U.S. Undergraduate Students Enrolled in Science-Related Fields
Drexel University College of Medicine is seeking highly motivated current undergraduate students enrolled in science-related fields throughout the United States to participate in our exclusive summer anatomy program, Anatomy Institute and Dissection Experience, (AIDE).
Participants should demonstrate a strong interest in anatomy topics. Under the direction of Drs. Kathryn Veazey, Bill Frank and Dana Peterson, participants will learn the fundamental concepts of gross anatomy and basic dissection techniques in a state-of-the-art cadaveric laboratory. By participating in Anatomy Institute and Dissection Experience, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Experience the gross anatomy, microanatomy and neuroanatomy of the various systems and regions of the human body.
- Practice human dissection, as well as common medical techniques like suturing, auscultation and measuring vital signs.
- Develop clinical reasoning skills using case-based learning and simulation experiences.
The Anatomy Institute and Dissection Experience culminates in a knowledge-based assessment and case presentation to an audience of their peers, health care professionals and loved ones.
At the end of the program, participants will earn a certificate of completion.
