ROKU Player

Connecting XFINITY on Campus to your TV using a Roku Player

To stream to your television set,  connect a Roku player (you supply) to your TV's HDMI input and download the "Xfinity Stream Beta" Channel From the Roku Channel Store to unleash all of the Xfinity On Campus features on your TV. There is no charge to download or watch the Xfinity Stream channel.

When selecting a ROKU model for campus housing, please select a "dual-band"  Roku Model that supports "WiFi-802.11ac".  Other models will not  take advantage of Drexel's high performance WiFi network and may result in less than superior watching experiences.

Supported ROKU Models

The Following Roku products are preferred because they support dual-band WiFi 802.11ac (operating in the superior 5Ghz radio spectrum).  These are recommended for use in campus housing locations due to the large number of WiFi devices deployed by student residents.

Streamnig Stick 3800R
Streaming Stick 3810R
Ultra 4661R

Roku players below support "XFINITY Stream"; however, their performance will suffer in high density campus housing locations because they do not support dual-band WiFi (they only operate in the very old 2.4Ghz radio spectrum):

Streaming Stick (3800, 3600)
Streaming Stick+ (3810)
Express (3900, 3700)
Express+ (3910, 3710)
Premiere (4620)
Premiere+ (4630)
Ultra (4660, 4640)
Roku 4 (4400)
Roku 3 (4200, 4230)
Roku 2 (4210)

Roku TV (5XXX, 6XXX: Models within the 5000 and 6000 range)
Roku players or TVs can be purchased from retail stores like Best BuyOffice Depot, Target, and on-line from Amazon.com and Roku.com
