Dell Command | Update
Dell Command | Update is an app for Dell PCs that provides Dell BIOS, firmware, driver, and app updates.
Install Dell Command | Update
Dell Command | Update is now installed by default on all new Drexel-owned Dell PCs. If Dell Command | Update isn't installed, you can install it from Software Center.
Note: If you're working from off campus, you'll need to connect to Drexel's Virtual Private Network (VPN) before you can install Dell Command | Update from Software Center.
- Do one of the following, depending on which version of Windows is running on your PC:
- In Windows 11, select Start > All apps > Software Center.
- In Windows 10, select Start > Microsoft Endpoint Manager > Software Center.
- Under Applications, select Dell Command Update for Windows Universal > Install.
Update Dell BIOS, firmware, and drivers
Before you begin
You may need to restart your device to complete the installation. To prevent data loss, we recommend you save your work before you install updates.
Connect your device to a power adapter to enable all updates and prevent system instability.
Important: Your power adapter and peripherals, such as docking stations, must remain connected during BIOS and firmware updates. Disconnecting from your power source or peripherals during updates may cause system instability or peripherals might become unusable. If you use a laptop with a docking stations, we recommend you keep your laptop lid open during BIOS and firmware updates.
Install BIOS, firmware, and drivers
- Do one of the following, depending on which version of Windows is running on your PC:
- In Windows 11, select Start > All apps > Dell Command | Update > select Check.
- In Windows 10, select Start > Dell Command | Update > select Check.
- If any updates are available for you, select Install. Your device will download and install the updates.
- If prompted, select Restart to restart your device and apply the updates. Otherwise, select Close.
