Using an example of Balenciaga from her priceless collection of vintage couture, Sorokko will explore the influence that the First Lady at the time, Jacqueline Kennedy, had on the American fashion industry. Mrs.Kennedy’s trip to India in 1962 created a whirlwind in the world of couture. Indian fabrics, colors, and drapes inspired Cristobal Balenciaga to create the famous golden Sari dress.
Tatiana Sorokko is an internationally known supermodel, journalist and collector of haute couture.
