Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the sixth largest city in the United States, and also serves as an extension of our campus. Our hometown of Philly is known for its bustling and rich culture, which includes a number of renowned large-scale, annual events throughout the year. Below is just a glimpse of the fun you can experience in and around the city.
Philadelphia Flower Show
Over 250,000 visitors flock to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, which is transformed every spring into the horticultural spectacle known as the Philadelphia Flower Show. Presented by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, this tradition dates back to 1829 and year after year, incorporates a new unique theme.
Every fall, over 30,000 participants race to victory during the Philadelphia Marathon. The marathon consistently ranks among the top 10 courses in the country, as our runners experience beautiful views throughout Fairmount Park and are cheered on by thousands of fans.
Broad Street Run
Every spring, runners compete along a 10-mile stretch of Philadelphia's historic Broad Street for the Broad Street Run. As the largest 10-mile road race in the country, the route travels through Center City, City Hall, the Avenue of the Arts, and past Philadelphia's sports stadiums. Participants finish out the race at the Philadelphia Navy Yard for the Finish Line Block Party.
Dad Vail Regatta
The largest intercollegiate rowing event in the nation, the annual Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta draws over 100 college and university rowing teams from the United States and Canada. This Philadelphia tradition is held on the Schuylkill River in beautiful Fairmount Park.
Concerts on the Ben Franklin Parkway
Philadelphia celebrates America's birthday decked out in red, white, and blue for the Welcome America! celebration. Every year, Fourth of July Weekend is filled with free concerts, dazzling fireworks, and the Welcome America! celebration.
Made in America Festival
The Parkway transforms for Labor Day Weekend's Made in America festival every year. Top performers fill the Philly air with performances, and there's always a lot of food and fun. Tickets sell out quickly, so plan ahead if you want to join in the celebration.
