Major: BS Data Science

Year: Pre-Junior

Hometown: Yardley, PA

I chose this major because...  As a kid, I have always been interested in puzzles, patterns, and problem solving. My main approach to almost everything in school was to find a pattern and learn from there. I loved solving riddles and playing mind games. My love for puzzles propelled me to choose Data Science as analyzing and drawing conclusions out of large data sets is very similar to finding patterns and completing a puzzle. I also have a very analytical mind and love math, which was another factor in me choosing DS as my major.

Favorite Course(s): INFO 103: Introduction to Data Science; INFO 212 Data Science Programming I

Clubs/Extracurricular Activities: Drexel Indian Undergraduate Student Association (DISHA), Drexel Women in Computing Society (WiCS), Circle K, South Asian Students Association (SASA)

Favorite thing/place at Drexel: The Korman quad is the best place to sit and relax when the weather is nice.

When I'm not at Drexel, I'm... When I'm not at Drexel I’m in Center City looking for the best food or shopping at the Fashion District

When you are in Philadelphia, I think you should... explore Center City as well as the smaller neighborhoods in Philly. The Schuylkill River Trail is a great place to walk around and take in the scenery!

Advice to new/incoming CCI students: My main piece of advice for incoming CCI students is to create a schedule and manage your time well. The quarter system is very different from most high school schedules, so it will take some time to get used to. That being said, once you have a specific routine, it gets easier to balance work and fun.

What is your dream job? Data Scientist at a FAANG company.

Favorite Animated Character: Mickey Mouse
