Major: BS Data Science (minors in Software Engineering and Management Information Systems)

Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Mauritius

I chose this major because... I have always been passionate about math, statistics and engineering. The fact that Data Science combines all of them gives me endless learning scopes. Its polyvalence eventually open doors to several unique professional opportunities in a wide array of fields

Favorite Course(s): CS383 – Machine Learning. I got the chance to take this course while being a STAR scholar. It taught me several ML techniques and how to apply them to different concepts.

Clubs/Extracurricular Activities: am a peer mentor for first generation students in Dragon Navigators. Over the past 6 months, I have also been an undergraduate research fellow in the engineering school doing research on Neuromorphic computing & MNIST Datasets. I’m also an active member of Google Women Techmakers, Women in Computing Society (WiCS), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and Drexel Model United Nations.

Co-ops I've done:

  • Currently doing my first co-op as a MIS Business Analyst at Ciright

Favorite thing/place at Drexel: The Cyber Learning Center at CCI, especially at sunset.

When I'm not at Drexel, I'm... at the Fisher Fine Arts Library at UPenn

When you are in Philadelphia, I think you should... visit the trail at the Schuylkill River banks

Advice to new/incoming CCI students: Make the most out of all the opportunities at hand. Always go the extra mile to make yourself stand out and be the best in everything you do.
