  • Penetration Tester

    - Also known as "ethical hackers," penetration testers is a great cyber security career. Penetration testers search for and exploit vulnerabilities found on networks, systems, and web applications. Penetration testers use various tools and methods to simulate real-world cyber attacks in order to show organizations how vulnerable they are to cyber threats. According to PayScale, the average yearly salary for a penetration tester with a bachelor’s degree in the cyber security field is approximately $82,900.
  • Information Security Analyst

    - Another computer security job option is an Information Security Analysis. As defined by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the role of an info security analyst is to “plan and carry out security measures to protect an organization’s computer networks and systems.” The BLS also reports that, as of May 2018, the median yearly salary for information security analysts was over $98,350.
  • IT Auditor

    - An IT auditor carefully examines, or audits, internal controls and procedures to determine methods of improving efficiency, organization, and regulatory compliance. Much of this job revolves around compiling and interpreting data. The yearly salary for this cyber security career path ranges from $66,000 to $103,000, according to Glassdoor.
  • Network Security Analyst

    - The computing security job role of a network security analyst, or IT security analyst, is to monitor for unusual activity and respond accordingly in order to protect against cyberattacks. Glassdoor data shows the yearly salary for a network security analyst ranging from $65,000 to $131,000.
