Who is the MS in Economics and Computer Science program for?
Drexel University's Master of Science in Economics & Computer Science is a STEM-designated program designed for students interested in combining the two disciplines of economics and computer science in a business environment. Combining training in computational and econometric techniques, the MS in Economics & Computer Science will prepare you for a variety of jobs in the private and public sector, enabling graduates to thrive in a variety of professional roles including data scientist, market analyst, and research analyst. This program is offered in collaboration with Drexel's LeBow College of Business.

Economics & Computer Science Program Overview
Advanced computing is disrupting the economy. Markets are increasingly moving to online platforms and machine learning and algorithms are replacing people in the provision of goods and services. Businesses and governments need leaders who understand the computer science that powers these new systems and who can also use economic theory and intuition to help design them.
Many new systems of exchange are powered by advanced computing techniques such as machine learning and other algorithmic solutions. Employers are increasingly looking for applicants able to manage and analyze big data to interpret the platforms they rely on daily.
After completing the MS in Economics & Computer Science, you will have an in-depth understanding of computer science and economics and be equipped with the skills necessary for a career at the intersection of these disciplines.

Economics & Computer Science Curriculum
IMPORTANT NOTE: Drexel operates on the quarter, not semester, system, offering classes during four 10-week terms throughout the year. (You are not required to take classes every quarter, but full-time students must complete the degree in 3 years.)
Our master’s degrees are 45 credits (15 courses) which is equivalent to 30-33-credit degrees at other universities. The benefit of the quarter system is that students receive instruction in more topic areas than through the semester system and have more freedom to personalize their curriculum using electives.
CCI's Master’s Degree in Economics & Computer Science consists of:
- Seven Economics required courses
- Six Computer Science required courses (choose from among sixteen)
- One Experiential Learning requirement

- A completed application.
- A four-year bachelor's degree or master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher, in a completed degree program, bachelor’s degree or above is required for the masters in AI.
- Official final transcripts from ALL Colleges/Universities attended.
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores or Graduate Management Admissions Test scores (scores must be five years old or less) are recommended.
- One (1) letter of recommendation is required. Two (2) are suggested.
- Essay/Statement of Purpose.
- Current Resume.
