Graduate Minor in Applied Data Science

Provides Drexel graduate students an interdisciplinary education in foundational and applied data science, where data science methods are used to help solve problems or gain insights.
Emphasizes practical proficiency in combining relevant fundamental skills, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tools and systems, and work with real datasets.
Ideal for Drexel graduate students (master’s or doctoral level) from all backgrounds who are interested in gaining core knowledge of data science’s value and wide-ranging applications, or used as a launching point for more in depth and expansive knowledge in the field.

Provides Drexel graduate students with a strong foundation in the emerging field of data science, with a focus on computational and systems issues.
Provides practically focused, yet technically rigorous training in machine learning, data-intensive computing, large-scale data management, algorithmic and data ethics, data visualization and cognitive systems.
Ideal for Drexel graduate students (master’s or doctoral level) who are interested in building on their degree and existing quantitative skills to become leaders in the field of data science.

Allows Drexel students from all backgrounds to obtain fundamental computer science knowledge as well as an introduction to advanced topics in computer science that will be suitable for their own graduate studies.
Designed to provide the basic knowledge necessary not only for success in higher-level graduate computer science courses, but also for using, understanding, and building software systems in any discipline. It does not provide training in field-specific software tools or algorithms, but in the principles underlying all computation.
The program is offered to current Drexel graduate students outside of the Computer Science Department.

Allows Drexel students to gain knowledge of healthcare informatics principles and practices for applications in a wide variety of health professions.
Designed to provide a broad overview of healthcare informatics, or the ability to generate data, information and knowledge as well as to implement, adapt and validate existing informatics approaches to solve healthcare problems.
The program is offered to current Drexel graduate students (except MS in Health Informatics students).

Educates Drexel graduate students on foundational human-computer interaction (HCI) principles and applied user experience (UX) techniques.
Emphasizes a range of techniques for the design and evaluation of technologies that support and complement human needs and abilities in a broad range of contexts such as work, wellness, home, entertainment and artistic expression.
Ideal for Drexel graduate students (master’s or doctoral level) from all backgrounds who wish to expand their understanding of human-centered design and/or apply design skills in their major area of study.
