Cooperative Education Tour
Steinbright Career Development Center
During your time at Drexel, you’ll see that our educational model of experiential education focuses on your post-graduation success. And the Steinbright Career Development Center, our world-class resource for career and cooperative education services, will be here to help you every step of the way with preparatory workshops, information sessions, access to career fairs, and dedicated career service professionals who are available for one-on-one guidance. Steinbright also connects our students to a constantly growing network of employers and industry leaders across the globe through our co-op program.
A Drexel co-op program starts with Steinbright’s ties to local employer partners. At these organizations, like the Comcast Corporation, you can take advantage of their proximity to the city and strong partnership with Drexel. While on co-op at Comcast, you will learn from the best business minds and take advantage of experiences such as acquisition marketing, computer engineering, advertising, website development, and customer interaction.
Imagine creating your own start-up company while enrolled in college. The Baiada Institute is the cradle of entrepreneurship at Drexel. Students from any academic discipline get their own space, mentoring, and resources in this incubator to start their first or next big thing. Entrepreneurship students automatically receive a space here and up to $15,000 in start-up funding while on entrepreneurial co-op.
Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University
Are you a natural-born explorer with a desire to make the breakthroughs of tomorrow and specialize in tasks such as in-depth fieldwork, laboratory tests, and data analysis at institutions like the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University? With a research co-op, the Steinbright Career Development Center is able to make connections between students and faculty from disciplines across the University and some of the most prominent research organizations around the globe, including The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Siemens, NASA, Lenovo, the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University, and many more.
Co-op opportunities know no bounds. Picture designing your own bike on the other side of the world, in Nepal. This is just one of the many places that the International Co-op program can take you. Increasingly, students across many majors are traveling the world to experience working in a different country. With opportunities on nearly every continent, our students can be seen working at places like SAP Germany, Deloitte China, and Portal Bikes Nepal.
From chemistry to biomedical engineering, co-ops at companies like GlaxoSmithKline can launch students from different majors into the career of their dreams. Professions like lab technician, medical director, and oncology product developer are all available routes to take after a co-op at an organization like GlaxoSmithKline. You could even become the next person to find the newest and best cancer treatment. Your options are endless after an experience like this.
Maybe your interest lays in the music industry or event production. LiveNation may just be the perfect co-op opportunity for you. From editing videos and designing stage lights to acting as a brand ambassador and marketing manager, there are so many ways to get into the music industry other than being a musician. Try out what matches your interest during a co-op at LiveNation.
