Academic Student Services Galore

Hello, Future Dragon! As you continue your college search, there’s lots of fun experiences to look forward to in the months ahead. But it is no secret that assignments, projects, and exams are going to be more demanding than in high school. Let me be the first to tell you that it is totally normal to feel a bit stressed or anxious. And more importantly, it's okay to ask for help. Luckily, Drexel University has a great support network of academic services to help you stay on track and be confident in your studies from day one.

The majority of these services are housed in the ARC, or Academic Resource Center, located in the Korman Center. With its central on-campus location, the ARC is your first stop when seeking academic support services. The ARC has tutoring, academic coaching, workshops, specialized courses, and more. It’s a helpful place to go if you’re not sure what type of services you might be looking for, and the professional staff can help point you in the right direction. The ARC is also a great place to go to study and work on group projects, with several small spaces for collaborative work.

In any college or university, academic and professional success are crucial, but that does not mean that you are alone in this journey.

The ARC is composed of several smaller offices and services located in the Korman Center, but there are also options across campus that work in partnership with the ARC to help you achieve academic success. You may find these housed within your school or program — check out this campus map to see where they are located. There may even be some resources available to you online. The bottom line is that there are always places to turn to – and people to turn to – whether you’re struggling and looking for help or trying to turn a B into an A.

One resource that can help with that is the Center for Learning and Academic Success Services (CLASS). CLASS has many services that can help you become a better student by showing you helpful tools to improve your study habits, learn time management, balance your coursework, and more. They help students develop their own confidence, skills, and strategies to excel in class and in the workforce. On top of that, CLASS has online resources for students to access, like academic calendars, tips, and guides. These are always accessible on their website, but they are also incorporated into “Study Jawn,” an event held each quarter where students can take a moment to relax, get additional tips for studying, and prepare for finals week. Whether in-person or virtual, CLASS is here to give all students the support they need to become a mentally healthy and diligent learner.

In any college or university, academic and professional success are crucial, but that does not mean that you are alone in this journey. Drexel University is here for you every step of the way in making sure that you have the drive and resilience to achieve anything you put your mind to. Future Dragons, you have so much to look forward to once you begin your studies here. Academic success, here we come!
