Meet the Author: Megan Kilcullen

As nerdy as it may sound, I absolutely love learning! That is the simplest reason as to why I am here working on the admissions team at Drexel University. I am energized and inspired by the University’s commitment to civic engagement as well as the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation across all disciplines. Traveling on behalf of Drexel University and sharing the Drexel story to students across the country is one of my favorite parts of working on this team and at Drexel. My admissions territories are Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, which I share with my colleague Mike Keaton, as well as the Pacific Northwest (Washington and Oregon). I have had a lot of fun traveling in these areas, meeting students and their families, and articulating the Drexel experience to those I meet on the road.  

I was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs and then went to a small liberal arts college not too far from home, so I have really spent my whole life in Pennsylvania. I studied creative writing and improvisation comedy in college and really found a passion for performance and comedy specifically. I have had the privilege of taking various improv classes throughout my life and performing with different groups of fellow comedians. I've also had the opportunity to share my love of improv with the admissions team at Drexel. Hopefully their jokes and comedic timing are getting better! 

When I'm not working, studying, or clowning around, you can most likely find me enjoying the great outdoors or exploring the Philadelphia restaurant scene. What I love about living in Philadelphia is that this city is the perfect combination of a major city and a quaint small town. You can access nature, experience an incredibly diverse food scene, and even visit famous museums and historical monuments. You may even bump into someone you know while walking around Philly!  

As an admissions professional, my piece of advice to students going through the college application process is to use the resources that you have right in front of you — things like the Internet, your own college guidance counselor, your high school teachers, and the admissions offices at the schools you are interested in. We are here to help you!
