Meet Muhammad
Hello! My name is Muhammad Ubaid Ullah and I'm a sophomore economics and finance major here at Drexel University. I'm a part of the Pennoni Honors College and a participant in the Drexel Global Scholar program. I am from Rawalpindi, Pakistan, a city known for its crowded bazaars.
My journey through the first year was an interesting one, as I started out at Drexel as a mechanical engineering major. During my first week at Drexel, I found myself at the Wharton Innovation Summit in Washington, D.C., and a few weeks later, in New York City, meeting with the team behind Ralph Lauren's RRL retail. Moreover, allowing myself to see beyond the curriculum, I also took a fashion branding course at Pennoni Honors College and a management course at the LeBow College of Business. Over the course of two quarters, I developed a stronger interest in business and equity markets. It was not until I won an award at the PwC case competition that I was thoroughly convinced that business was my calling. I found myself privileged to be surrounded with ample opportunities during my time at Drexel. Thus, I switched my academic major to that of economics and finance.
On campus, I'm the Vice-President of a student organization, TEDxDrexelU, through which we hope to revive the annual TEDx talk events at Drexel University. Moreover, during the summer, I'm taking part in the STAR Scholars Program, working with the Department of Finance; and on the side, I'm also teaching myself to play the piano. Off campus, you will see me at the Wilma Theater more than three times a quarter and maybe more often at the comedy shows at the Philly Improv Theater. I also love to travel and hike, so you might see me with the Weekend Warriors, an outdoor activity club at Drexel, every now and then.
This was my short introduction, I look forward to sharing my stories with you in the future!
