What if I am not sure about the major/program I picked?

As the summer time is approaching and graduations are beginning, many incoming students are probably starting to worry about their new life to come at Drexel. There is so much to consider and think about, and it can be overwhelming. To start, it is OKAY to not know exactly what you want to do with your degree. I know many people, including myself, who have changed their majors, concentrations, and tracks several times until they finally found their niche.

When graduating high school, I was 50/50 between studying business or medicine, two completely different subjects. I started off my first quarter at Drexel as an International Business major, only to find out that my interest was not there and I simply was not good at it. By the time midterms hit, I was already visiting the pre-health advisor about switching my major. Although I missed a quarter of science classes, Drexel made it very easy for me to switch to Health Sciences. That winter term I began taking the science prerequisites and found my forte within the field.

I know many people, including myself, who have changed their majors, concentrations, and tracks several times until they finally found their niche.

Then came the next question, did I want to be a physician assistant or a physician (two completely different tracks)? I tossed about the ideas for some time until I finally committed to being on the pre-med track spring term of my sophomore year. Even then, my advisor made it simple for me to schedule all my future classes needed for medical school, and I am still somehow not behind on my studies.

Not knowing exactly what you want to do in the future is okay. I found that I didn’t completely decide what I wanted to do until I was already deep into my studies. Explore your different interests and if you find that your major is not giving you what you want, Drexel definitely makes it easy for you to make the change.
