Philly Eats: The Tasty
Hi everyone, I am so excited to share with you my first of many posts about my all-time favorite places to eat in Philly! All of you will come to realize the fact that I go out to eat way too often, so I hope you all love food as much as I do.
One of my favorite restaurants that I have been going to is The Tasty. It's a little vintage restaurant located in South Philly. The main reason I wanted to eat here was because I found out the entire menu is vegan and partially gluten-free friendly. It's hard finding good vegetarian food that isn't just a salad around Philly, so finding an all-vegan restaurant was like hitting the jackpot.
The first time I ate here, I was really conflicted on what to order because everything on the menu sounded SO good. However, I am such a picky eater and chose to just get the waffle because I thought it would be pretty difficult for a restaurant to mess up a waffle. And thank goodness, I was right because this waffle ended up being better than any waffle I've ever had!
After going to this restaurant a second time, I realized the entire menu is under $10, making this place the ultimate brunch place for me – aka a broke college student. I'm someone who orders the same thing every time once I've found something good so I've ordered the waffle with coconut milk whipped cream and berries every time and it really has never disappointed me.
If you're a foodie who likes trying new things, this is definitely the place to go. Although their entire menu is plant-based, it's pretty hard to tell that none of their meals contain dairy and meat. For a vegetarian like myself, this restaurant has been a dream come true. Another perk to this already flawless restaurant is the fact that they compost and recycle almost every part of your meal! So, if you're ever hungry and in the neighborhood of South Philly, I highly suggest you check out this retro vegan restaurant!
