Understanding Co-op

If you have visited campus, done online research, or seen any of our materials, you know that Drexel University has something called "co-op." Co-op is short for cooperative education, and it is a unique opportunity for our students to test out careers and network within professions that they will move into after graduation.

These experiences alternate with academic coursework and research on campus to give students the chance to test the classroom knowledge that they have in the real world. It also enriches later classes because previous work situations will bring an additional dimension to class discussions and projects.
