Meet the Author: Amina Floyd-Murphy

I would like to think of myself as a very eclectic person. I have many different passions, ranging from podcasts to Hello Kitty everything. One of my greatest passions is assisting students in navigating the expansive field of higher education. Whether it's finding the right program for you or just answering questions to figure out the difference between a professional or academic writing sample, I am here for you.

As a graduate student, I remember how tough the process can be when it comes to trying to understand what options will best suit your professional goals. Graduate school can seem daunting; having someone in your corner who understands the intricacy of the process is pivotal in supporting students to make the best possible decisions. I am here to be that advocate for you. In addition to helping any potential student, I am also very open to discussing the most recent Marvel developments and why it is important that you develop strong relationships with people who could end up being your future recommenders. Like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all the steps you take to apply to graduate school connect and assist in reaching your ultimate goals! I am a Philadelphia native who is incredibly terrible at sharing and, sometimes, following directions, but there is no place on campus that I can't describe – even if I can't tell you exactly how to get there.

When I'm not working with students or wandering the beautiful streets of Philadelphia, I generally have my nose stuck in an amazing book or my ears immersed in one of my favorite podcasts. Like most of the books I read and the movies I watch, I am a firm believer that there is nothing that you can't do when you put your mind to it. The same is said for attaining additional education; whether it is a certificate or Master's degree, I am here to help you find a way to achieve your goals through the wonderful world of graduate education at Drexel University.
