About Me

I am originally from Portland, OR and moved to Philadelphia in 2017. I have worked in international education for 10+ years and have been focusing on higher education student recruitment for the last 5+. I love to travel and meet new people from all over the world. In past roles I’ve led trips and recruited students in Thailand, Vietnam, and India. In my free time I enjoy exploring the outdoors, watching soccer and basketball, and hanging out with my 1 year-old son.

What advice would you give to a student considering grad school?

Try to imagine yourself 5 or 10 years after you get your degree. What is your title? What kind of organization do you work for? What skills do you have? Where are you living? What kind of work experiences do you want to have completed? Now work backwards and think about how what you are doing now and in graduate school is enabling you to reach those goals. You should be looking for a graduate program that will let you experiment and try new things while still providing you with the skills and opportunities that 5-years-from-now-you will have found invaluable.

Place on Campus:

I love the quad area. It’s so nice to have a green oasis in the middle of campus.

Restaurant/Food Truck:

Circles and Squares/ Pizza Plus makes my all-time favorite pizza. For everything else you can’t go wrong with Reading Terminal Market.

Philadelphia Landmark/Location:

The Schuylkill River Bike trail is a very convenient path and has some of the most beautiful views of the city.
