Ecology, Evolution and Earth Systems
The Department of Biodiversity, Earth, and Environmental Science is a multidisciplinary department focused on both basic and applied research ranging from understanding and solving environmental problems to reconstructing the evolutionary history of life on our planet. Our work requires understanding of a number of disciplines, including ecology, evolution, biodiversity, conservation, environmental chemistry and assessment, and paleoecology-geology, and contains coursework and research in each of these areas. A student may alternatively craft a specialized plan on study outside of these strength areas under the guidance of a faculty advisor.
