University and Community Partnerships
Drexel's Office of University and Community Partnerships provides students with experiential learning opportunities for individual growth that improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods adjacent to campus.
Drexel is surrounded by vibrant, historic neighborhoods — each with unique qualities and character. We prepare our students to be great representatives in local communities, working closely with neighbors and organizations to build a shared future while tackling issues of importance together. Drexel students help to address disparities in education, healthcare, infrastructure, digital literacy, and more right in West Philadelphia. The experience gained from solving problems locally and collaboratively is a big reason why Drexel students have such sustained career success.
In partnership with its neighbors, the University invests in community involvement through initiatives in public safety and security, homeownership, retail and the arts, economic development, community enrichment, and education. Those investments have laid the groundwork for a transformational commitment on the part of Drexel’s faculty, students, trustees, and administration.
