The Office of Admissions would like to address the concerns of MD Program applicants regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused unprecedented disruption to academic work. The College of Medicine is keenly aware of the many challenges that applicants have faced.
Please be advised of the following:
- The Admissions Committee will accept Pass/Fail, online, and courses not taken at an applicant’s “home school” without penalty to the applicant.
- Applicants will not be penalized for experiences they had planned to complete or participate in that were impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic.

Applications are accepted through AMCAS from June 1 through December 1. Completed applications are reviewed at the College of Medicine as they are received. It is best to apply as early as possible.
We will not consider the January 2025 MCAT as a basis for determining whether to invite candidates for an interview for the 2025 entering class. We will only consider MCATs from 2025 for special program students.
MCAT scores are good for a period of three years. MCAT scores from 2022 are the oldest MCAT scores accepted for entry with the 2025 first-year class.
After we receive your verified application from AMCAS, we will send you the link to the online secondary application via email. All applicants receive a link to the secondary. It can take up to four weeks after AMCAS verification to receive Drexel's link to the secondary application. Please contact us if you feel that the link to your secondary application has not reached you in a timely manner. Please make sure to check all spam/junk folders. Please retain your ID and password, which will be sent to you with the link for the secondary application.
Yes. We will accept additional letters. They should be sent to us through the AMCAS Letters Service and, whenever possible, should reference your AMCAS ID number.
No. Drexel University College of Medicine accepts applications from U.S. citizens or permanent residents only. Permanent residents must provide a copy of their valid green card with their secondary application.
Drexel University College of Medicine will consider transfer applicants into our second and third years in very limited circumstances if there is space available. Please read the Transfer Application Requirements for detailed information and requirements.
Orientation for entering students is usually the first week of August. Orientation information is emailed to all accepted students starting in mid-June.

We require applicants to complete the AMCAS essay and offer additional essay opportunities on our secondary application.
The College of Medicine requires letters of recommendation. We prefer a committee letter if your school has one, but we also accept letters from up to four individuals who can provide objective evaluations and with whom the applicant has had a recent professional relationship.
Applicants may send a total of three updates through our application system. Go to our website for applicants at https://apply.med.drexel.edu/ and enter your login credentials. Select the "Status" tab and then the "Document Upload/Status" option on the left. You may upload one of each of the following items: transcripts, resume/CV and an update letter. Once these items are uploaded, they may not be updated. The file should be a pdf and under 8mb in size.
One-year deferrals are considered for accepted students on an individual basis and are due by the first Monday in June. Students requesting a deferral must Commit to Enroll in the AMCAS CYMS system and confirm their acceptance in Drexel’s application system.
