Drexel to Peru: Discovering Purpose Through Global Education
During my last break here at Drexel, I traveled to Cusco, Peru, with two other students to participate in teaching English in an after-school program and cultural immersion.
Throughout my time working with students, having conversations with various people, and exploring the beauty of Peru, I was able to discover my passion for global education.
I am preparing to graduate this December, and despite being so grateful that my degree will allow me a wide range of opportunities post-grad, I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do that met my vast interests. Throughout my time working with students, having conversations with various people, and exploring the beauty of Peru, I was able to discover my passion for global education. I got to discover my desire to work with other students, like me, to have experiences abroad because these types of trips and experiences are extremely impactful for those who get to experience them.
I am so grateful for this experience, as I got to learn so much from the students, advisors, locals, and the other two Drexel students! I know this study abroad experience impacted me and those who went with me, which is why I would encourage everyone to try and study abroad or do an intensive course abroad at least once.
