Tanja is a PhD candidate in the department of Finance and the student fellow of the Raj & Kamla Gupta Governance Institute. Originally from Landshut, Germany, she earned her B.B.A. from St. Bonaventure University and M.S. Finance from Vanderbilt University. She chose Drexel for the world-class faculty of the Finance department and its corporate governance research focus. Her research interests are the information acquisition and role of hedge funds in corporate governance.

Joseph was born to a Brazilian mother and American father in Texas before moving to Utah at an early age, where he has since spent most of his life (outside of a couple years living in Brazil). He is a healthcare professional, specifically as CEO of a med/tech start-up, Beacon Sleep Solutions, as well as working in operations for Intermountain Healthcare. His passion to give back to his community and being a rights activist is shown by his work serving on a number of non-profit Board of Directors in his state, including the American Red Cross and the League of United Latin American Citizens. Joseph earned his BS in Exercise and Sport Science, minoring in Pediatric Clinical Research, before pursuing an MBA and becoming a certified personal trainer. His current research is in the realm of Implementation Science, specifically focusing on the role management has on physician work habits. Outside of wanting to help continue the amazing traditions of excellence at Drexel, he is also hoping to bring to campus the acclaimed Bench to Bedside competition. After his current doctoral work, he plans on applying to MD/PhD programs to further his research in healthcare as well as provide direct care to patients. He spends his free time with his wife of 12 years, Krischa, and his six children (Brianne, Madison, Dinah, Audrey, Adam, and Declan).

Layla is a Moroccan-American professional learner, first-generation student, and advocate for equity in tech. She is a PhD student in Information Science and a Drexel Blue Fellow. Layla spent several years in her previous role as the Lead Research Analyst at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Department of Public Health Sciences where she focused primarily on Substance Use Disorder and occasionally got to work on projects in cancer, urology and COVID-19. In addition to being a research analyst she also had the privilege of satisfying her love for teaching by co-instructing “Machine Learning & Data Science for Public Health Research” where she taught some of her favorite topics like version control with Git, modern R programming and developing web applications. In the community, Layla virtually co-organizes the Miami chapter of R-Ladies, is a Google WomenTechmakers Ambassador and is a facilitator of Google’s #IamRemarkable initiative. She is eager to pursue her research interests at Drexel where she hopes to traverse the intersection of natural language processing methodology, substances of abuse and filling knowledge gaps with an array of novel data sources. While she's not chasing her academic dreams, Layla enjoys hiking, improving her green thumb and cultivating her appreciation for wines.

Lauren D’Innocenzo is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Provost Solutions Fellow at Drexel LeBow College of Business. Her research focuses on understanding team effectiveness by exploring compositional elements, contextual influences, as well as emergent team dynamics. Using an applied research approach, Lauren has worked with a number of Fortune 500, governmental agencies, and hospitals in a variety of capacities including data-driven research, executive education programs, interventions, executive reporting, and consulting. The current focus of Lauren’s research involves understanding drivers of surgical team effectiveness including patient safety and operating room efficiency. The practical implications of this research will be used to train attending physicians, residents, and interns as well as develop new educational programs for medical students. Her research has been published in leading peer-reviewed academic journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Journal of Management. Lauren holds a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut and was recently named Top 40 Under 40 Business Professors by Poets and Quants.
