INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF DREXEL GRADUATE EDUCATION

Thank you for your interest in giving to the Office of Graduate Studies at Drexel University. The mission of the office is to meet the need for an increased focus on Drexel’s already comprehensive graduate programs and to enhance the graduate student experience across the University.

We are committed to a range of strategic initiatives that will enrich the many academic, interdisciplinary and experiential learning opportunities for which Drexel is recognized. Your gift will ensure the continued success and growth of graduate education now and in decades to come.

Contributions will support student-focused priorities including highly sought-after travel awards for students presenting their work at conferences nation-wide, as well as valuable professional development workshops and speakers. Both initiatives strengthen the academic, professional and personal goals of our students, preparing them to be leaders in their fields.

Conference Travel Awards

The Graduate Student Domestic Travel Subsidy Award was established in 2016 and funded in part by a generous donation from Teck-Kah Lim, PhD, former Associate Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Professor Emeritus in the Department of Physics, through 2023. In 2024, the Teck-Kah Lim Domestic Graduate Student Travel Award was launched in addition to the GSA's travel subsidy award. The goal of the subsidy award is to provide more opportunities for graduate students to travel to present at meetings and conferences, often when they have little or no other support to do so, and to further advance Drexel's mission and status as an R1 research institution. The subsidy award also provides an opportunity for graduate students to develop important presentation, networking, and professional development skills. Many go on to win conference/meeting awards and accolades.

In 2025-2026, the Teck-Kah Travel Lim Award supported 30 students with up to $1,000 each for travel and presentation at 23 prestigious national conferences and meetings in 17 cities across the US, highlighting Drexel's R1 research enterprise. Further, the GSA supported an additional 28 students with a total of more than $10,000 to support travel and presentation at 20 national conferences and meetings in 16 cities across the US.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT to continue to enable high-performing students to present their work to audiences of hundreds or even thousands; students gain experience and feedback, learn from their peers and even find potential career opportunities at these conferences, all of which contribute to the development of graduate programs across Drexel’s schools and colleges.

Professional Development & Experiential Learning

Drexel graduate students are certainly bright, highly-motivated, collaborative and full of innovative ideas for the future. Your support ensures their talent is complemented with the right professional development and experiential learning opportunities.

Offering beneficial graduate opportunities and customizing professional development to meet student needs is a priority for the office. The goal is to provide in-demand professional development and experiential learning opportunities for all graduate students, in partnership with the Graduate Student Association and Drexel's colleges and schools.

Thank you for your Support

As you can see it’s an exciting time for graduate education at Drexel and we thank you for your continued support of Graduate Education at Drexel University.
