Costs, Scholarships, & Financial Aid
Tuition & Financial Aid
When students attend Drexel Sponsored Study Abroad, their Drexel tuition and financial aid remain the same. For Drexel Sponsored programs all of the student's financial aid, scholarships and loans apply.
For more information about Independent Study Abroad programs (non-Drexel sponsored programs), view our program list.
Estimated Costs of Study Abroad
In addition to tuition, students are responsible for costs such as: round-trip airfare, housing, food, living expenses, local transportation, travel, and entertainment. These costs are higher for some programs and lower for others, depending on the cost of living and location.

Pro tip: calculate the normal on-campus expenses of housing, food, books, living expenses, local transportation, and entertainment in Philadelphia. Then compare those expenses with the expenses overseas, and you will find that the actual net cost of studying abroad is less than expected!
There are many scholarships, both need-based and merit-based, to help fund a study abroad experience. Students are encouraged to exhaust all possible resources in searching for study abroad scholarships and contact the Office of Global Engagement for feedback before applying.

In the case that a student has a change of plans for personal, academic, or family issues, they are permitted to withdraw their application before acceptance, decline their acceptance into the program prior to deposit, or withdraw from the program after confirming their acceptance. The Study Abroad Refund Policy outlines the financial liability of students, depending on the exact time period they withdraw from the program.
