Ask Sejal a Question
When did you become interested in Engineering?
Unlike many others, I never planned to pursue engineering as a child. My interest began in high school after a seminar where inspiring speakers introduced us to the power of technology and computers. They looked so confident, as if they had technology in their hands to shape the world, which left a lasting impression on me. That curiosity sparked my passion for problem-solving and exploring how technology improves everyday life, eventually leading me to pursue Computer Engineering to combine my interests in hardware, software, and innovation.
What are your career plans?
I am passionate about working in the fields of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analysis. My career goal is to join a company where I can apply these skills to solve real-world problems, while also continuing to grow, learn, and expand my expertise in these areas. In the long term, I want to contribute to advancing intelligent systems that improve the way we live, work, and connect with the world.
What made you choose Drexel’s Graduate School?
I chose Drexel’s Graduate School because of its unique combination of strong academics and real-world experience. The opportunity to work with faculty on research, combined with Drexel’s renowned co-op program and strong industry connections, made it the ideal choice for me. In addition, Drexel’s vibrant and diverse campus culture further strengthened my decision to pursue my graduate studies here.
What extracurricular activities do you enjoy?
Outside of academics, I enjoy participating in student organizations and engaging in community outreach activities. In my free time, I love baking, working on puzzles, crocheting, and playing the piano
What advice would you give prospective students thinking of attending graduate school?
My advice to prospective students is to keep an open mind and be willing to step outside your comfort zone. Beyond academics, focus on building connections, exploring opportunities, and growing as a person. Make the most of Drexel’s resources, seek mentorship from advisors and professors, get involved in campus activities, and connect with fellow students. I also recommend starting the co-op search early, as preparation can open the door to even more opportunities.
